At Ark Blacklands we aim to give every child access to high quality music making opportunities, with the intention of instilling in them a lifelong passion for music and enabling them to reap the many associated benefits.
The school choir is open to all pupils from year 4 to year 6, with weekly rehearsals and regular performances. In the past, the school choir has performed at the local White Rock Theatre, local care homes and The Barbican Centre in London. The schools also offers instrument lessons including the recorder, violin, clarinet, guitar and keyboard.
We also benefit from being part of the Ark Schools Network and their excellent network-wide music programme. Designed to foster a life-long love of music, the Ark Music Programme offers a wealth of experience for all pupils at all levels, including an annual Music Gala where pupils have the opportunity to perform at a national level.
