Jerwood Gallery Visit

Four lucky year 5 pupils from Ark Blacklands and Ark Little Ridge joined others at the Jerwood Gallery for the first of three special days of art.

The gallery is running 3 full day sessions at the Jerwood and on the fishing beach this term. The sessions will be in two parts, the morning will be spent on the beach working with the local fishermen learning what it’s like to work in an outside environment such as the beach. The second half will be in the gallery creating responses to the morning session. The children will be working with local artist educators from Radiator Arts with Leigh Dyer being the lead artist and will take part in a range of activities including; sculpture, engineering, sustainability, science, maths and literacy.
